Graphic designer responsible for internet and PC based computer program artwork.

Joined Novell to complete artwork on an existing "instantme" interface. This required matching existing artwork with new art to allow expanded usability and features. Other assignments included the creation of an extensive library of "skins" for use in later versions of the interface.

Created a complete interface for a video conferencing program that allowed expansion capabilities ranging from two users to twelve.

Designed an in-company, HTML based project management interface that appeared as a series of web pages.

Many assignments came from teams working on different projects within Novell. This provided much experience working with engineering teams and fitting graphics to their requirements.

Created an extensive library of icons, buttons and indicator lights for a variety of projects.

Designed a series of web pages to support an intranet for the spin-off company Volera.

SENIOR ARTIST Home Financial Network, Orem, Utah 1997 - 1999

Artist, responsible for designing graphical interfaces for Personal

Computer and internet banking software.

Designed branded demos for the top 100 U.S. banks. These demos were used

by the sales staff for presentations to potential clients. Branding included

incorporating bank logos on checks, deposits, an address book and statements.

Each brand required an emulation of an ATM with customized frame and buttons.

Created designs as specified by clients to bring their home banking products to

market. Some client banks opted to use the artwork presented in the demo for their finished product.

Created an interface for a stand-alone kiosk using a touch screen.

Designed logos and frames for a variety of generic demo software.

Created animation sequences to display progress while the computer connected

with the bank, verified the password and account balances.

Made ad layouts for use in trade magazines.

Used Adobe Photoshop 5, Painter 5, Animation Master, Adobe Illustrator 8, Adobe ImageReady and numerous plug-ins and filters.

Familiar with most current graphic formats and web color usage.



ARTIST Saffire Corporation, American Fork, Utah 1995 - 1997

Artist, responsible for designing and creating 3D objects, 2D editing, texture maps, color reductions and tiling of art for the computer game industry.

Designed play levels for a Marvel Comics "2099" side scroll game. After team and client sign-off, these designs became patterns for the development of finished art.

Designed and created a variety of 3 Dimensional models using 3DAnimation Pro version 4 and Caligary TrueSpace 2. Some models were animated.

Used Aldus Photostyler, Adobe Photoshop 3, Painter 4 and Deluxe Paint to clean images and paint texture maps.

Developed palettes for images being reduced from 24 bit color to 256 or 16 colors. All critical paletting work was done using DeBabelizer.

Assembled game levels with art created by all members of an art team using an in-house background art software tool.

Designed text screens and graphics for an in-flight touch screen computer system being used by China Airlines.

Worked on play levels for the "Cyberthug" game using 3D Studio Max.





DESIGN ENGINEER Automated Control Systems, Orem, Utah 1990 - 1995



Designed, fabricated and wired the Technical Director's control console for the $12 Million Buccaneer Bay Pirate Show at the Treasure Island Casino in Las Vegas. This console gave the director control of pyrotechnic effects, hydraulic motions, lighting and sound effects and stunt actor safety.

Drew wiring schematics for Treasure Island (Mirage Entertainment) for the show control system and its interface with the other systems used to operate the Pirate Show.

Designed the mechanical and electronic systems for a computer-controlled hospital laboratory specimen storage and retrieval system. Directed software engineering team. Project was funded by the National Institutes of Health.

Used DesignCad 2D and DesignCad 3D software to provide blueprints for machine shops and jobbers and to verify component clearances.

Wrote and illustrated user's manuals for in-house designed computer-based control products.

FREE LANCE ARTIST Self employed 1970 - Present

Architectural Rendering: Provided illustrations for real estate developers to show prospective clients the finished appearance of proposed projects. This frequently required landscape design and helped land lucrative contracts.

Architectural Model Builder: Built plastic and mat board models of projects such as shopping malls, condominiums and apartment complexes. Models were constructed from blueprints furnished by architectural and engineering firms.

Scenery painter: Volunteered for three years as lead artist painting for the Utah Valley Pageant of the Arts. This required creating large reproductions of well known paintings by various artists for stage presentation. Other duties included designing and fabricating sets for ballet productions.

MILLWRIGHT United States Steel Corp. Vineyard, Utah 1968 - 1986

Designed and fabricated a wide variety of industrial equipment from sheet, plate and structural steel. Provided mechanical maintenance for industrial equipment.
